July 4, 2022: The Great American Picnic

July 4, 2022: The Great American Picnic

The Great American Picnic is coming to Broomfield on the Fourth of July. It’s star-spangled banner meets sauerkraut-covered bratwurst. Come salute the nation and spend time with friends, family, neighbors, and community members. This event takes place at the Broomfield County Commons Park (13200 Sheridan Boulevard) and begins at 5pm.

The Great American Picnic offers more than your run-of-the-mill barbecue; it’s jam-packed with family-friendly vendors, out-of-the-box activities, and tons of entertainment. Kids can rule the lands from inflatable castles, get unicorns painted on their faces, and participate in the bike parade (they’re encouraged to decorate their bikes). Adults can also join the bike parade, as well as sample fabulous food options and stop in at the beer garden to make a toast to independence and IPAs!

Enjoy live music from Spinphony, an all-female electric string quartet that plays classical, rock, and pop selections, as well as Soul X, a variety band that showcases everything from modern hits and blues to 80s, funk, country, and more. Dance the night away or at least until the fireworks start; they’ll begin bursting in air at 9:30 PM.

Parking and Transportation

Picnic attendees are encouraged to carpool. A limited number of parking spots will be available at the park with additional parking at Legacy High School. RVs, campers, trailers, and extra-large vehicles must park at Legacy.

Ambitious event-goers can opt to walk (three miles) from the high school to the Broomfield County Commons Park. Or they can hop on the shuttle service, which is scheduled to run back and forth between Legacy High School until 11pm. If neither of those options sounds particularly enticing, there’s always Lyft, Uber, or a friend who owes you a favor.

The Great American Picnic is certain to be a safe and festive time for the entire family….minus the four-legged. While the Broomfield County Commons Park typically allows dogs, the fireworks display means Fido would rather stay home. He’ll be fine: Benji is streaming on Netflix. 😉

ARISTA Broomfield is filled with dining options for after the event.  ARISTA is in the middle of the US 36 creative corridor. We offer the perfect place to unwind this summer and all year long. Come check it out!  Contact us to learn more.
